FinnvedenBulten develops and manages industrial businesses, offering products, technical solutions and systems in metallic materials. The Group operates as a business partner to international customers in the engineering industry, primarily automotive.



FinnvedenBulten is structured into two divisions – Bulten and Finnveden Metal Structures – both with strong positions in their respective customer segments. Customers are mainly found in the automotive and engineering industries in Europe, Asia and the US. Production primarily takes place in Europe, with considerable low-cost production in Poland.



The Group had net sales of SEK 2,963 million in 2012.

Division Bulten shall be a leading business partner and supplier of fasteners to the international automotive industry, and shall continuously develop its full service concept. Bulten shall actively launch innovations and services in the product area of fasteners in order to secure its position on the European market and increase its presence on growth markets.



Division Finnveden Metal Structures shall be the preferred choice of business partner for metal forming in selected customer segments. Customer benefit shall be created by actively taking part in product development and offering stable industrialization and cost-effective production solutions, with flexibility in the choice of materials.



Strategy
FinnvedenBulten’s strategy is to continue the development of Bulten and Finnveden Metal Structures to realise the full potential in both divisions. Growth opportunities are favourable as both Bulten and Finnveden Metal Structures are well-positioned for continued profitable organic growth. Close geographic proximity and strong dialogue with customers during their planning and development phases are key factors for success.



Bulten shall continue to be a prioritised full-service supplier covering everything from development, production and logistics to final delivery to the customer’s production line. This has proved to be a successful concept and the strategy is to continue developing the business along these lines. Bulten’s wide-ranging and high-technology offers are of great significance for customers, so the company’s strategy is to continuously develop innovative and technological knowledge to create new products and offer better solutions to vehicle makers.



Finnveden Metal Structures supplies a broad range of products to key customers. The principal strategy for the division is to offer customers more flexible complete solutions for pressing and die casting products while securing a higher portion of contracts containing many of the company’s products, especially more complex ones. Complex products are often large, joined structures in steel, aluminium and magnesium or a combination of the aforementioned. The division sees great opportunities to further strengthen its position in this product area and further expand the range to include new contracts with other vehicle makers and Tier 1 suppliers.



The aim is also to follow vehicle makers into growth markets such as China, India and Russia. Bulten has been established in Beijing, China for many years through a wholly-owned business and Finnveden Metal Structures is establising a Joint Venture in the Shandon province. Bulten is also establishing production in Russia.
