CNC Machining
CNC Machining is a combination of machining processes in which computer controlled machines are used
Usually it involves milling and turning but drilling and thread cutting and simple assemblies sometimes occur. The CNC Maching category is also commonly used when it is uncertain what process is the most efficient one, because modern machine tools are versatile. For example, modern lathes can mill and modern milling machines can turn.
CNC, computer numerical control, means that a machine is controlled by a computer. A drawing is produced in a computer program (known as CAD), and the drawing is interpreted by the computer which automatically creates instructions for the machine tool. The computer sends the instructions to the machine tool which automatically produces the component.
