Planing

Planing is a process in which a shavings are cut from a metal piece.

When metal planing, the work piece is put in the plane. The plane then uses strokes to cut shavings from the component.

The process is rare, mostly because planing is quite time consuming. The final result of planing is very similar to that of a milled component.
